- When should I place my order?
We suggest placing the order at least a week in advance to allow us plenty of time to locate a car carrier for your move. We also require a 3 day window of availability.
- Do you move our shipment door to door?
We only do door to door shipments. There are times because of deed restrictions, or crowded streets that a big truck can’t get to your home. You will need to be able to meet the driver in a nearby parking lot in this instance. But we DO NOT use any terminals.
- How long will it take to ship my car?
Once your car is picked up it will take on average 1 day per 500 miles driven. A transport across country typically takes 7-10 days, from the coast to the middle of the country is about 5-7 days and up and down the coast is usually 3-5 days.
- Can I pack my car full of my stuff?
The official answer is NO. The reason for this is twofold. 1) The Department of Transportation does not allow car carriers to move household goods. There is a different license, insurance and etc required to do that. 2) It’s a weight issue. If every car has 800lbs of goods inside of it the carrier will be grossly overweight at the weigh stations. The fine for being overweight is very hefty and could put a carrier out of business. Our recommendation is to only put about 150lbs of things into the very back of the car, and do not ship any valuables.
- Can I cancel my order at any time?
If for some reason you decide to cancel your order call us first and if the order has not been dispatched to a carrier then you owe us nothing as we don’t charge a deposit. If however the order has been dispatched to a carrier and you choose to cancel the order for any reason whatsoever an adminstrative fee of $50 will be charged to your credit card.
- What about insurance?
Your shipment will be insured against any damages that the driver might cause to the car during transport. Typically up to $250,000 depending on the load. Carrier insurance does NOT cover any damage that is a result of normal driving conditions or acts of god.
- How can I pay for this?
We accept all major credit cards for the dispatch fee. The remaining balance is due to the driver on delivery in the form of cash, cashier’s check or money order.
- Can I track my shipment?
If you need to know where your shipment is during the process we can contact the driver for you and give you an update.
- Is it more to ship a larger car?
Yes. The size of your car determines where your car can be placed on the car carrier and will change the price slightly. Call us to find out what the difference in cost will be.
- Do you ship junk cars or cars that don’t drive?
Yes! As long as your car rolls, brakes and steers we can ship it. An inoperable car will normally be $150 more than a car that runs. If the car does not roll you will need to provide a forklift to load and unload it.
